Classes, Events and Sales Nuts about Knots! Learn French Knots and Colonial Knots Teresa Layman has introduced solid French and Colonial knot projects to the needlework world. Ginger is nuts about knots and wants to show you how easy these knots can be! Bring a 6” embroidery hoop and a pair of small scissors and go knotty! If you don’t have these items – just come – we have plenty! Come see the mermaid picture already stitched and framed and select your own! Beginning Quilting Learn the basics of color selection, using a rotary cutter and mat, pressing and sewing accurate strips to form the very popular “Rail Fence” pattern shown on Terre’s class sample. Borders and Binding Continue your beginning quilting education by learning to measure, piece and join borders – especially mitered corners! Then you will learn the secrets to making, sewing on and finishing binding – that very important final touch! Padded Mat Board Finishing Always a popular class, we have folks clamoring for one now so that they can start making birthday and Christmas gifts! You bring a small cross-stitch or needlepoint stitched piece to class (no larger than 5 x 7”) and Susan will teach her tips for mounting the needlework and the fabric backing, how to join the two mounted pieces and make and add twisted cord – with NO GLUE! You will need to tell us at least one week before class the size of your stitching so we can have your supplies ready. Stand-Up Figure Finishing Again, you will bring a stitched piece to class and Susan will teach you tips and tricks to sew on backing, stuff the figure beautifully (smooth and dense), finish the bottom as well as make and sew on twisted cord. Stitched people, animals or figures of some kind look great finished this way – come see some of the models in the shop! This class size is limited also – so mark your calendars and reserve your spot!
